From 4 to 6 April 2017, the international coatings community will gather for the highlight of its trade fair calendar. That’s when the biennial European Coatings Show opens its doors in Exhibition Centre Nuremberg to manufacturers of paints and coatings, adhesives, sealants, printing inks and constructions chemicals, suppliers of raw materials and industrial processors. International trade visitors can look forward to a comprehensive overview of the market for raw materials and services as well as testing, measuring, laboratory and production technology. As always, the event will also welcome a large number of international exhibitors, with companies from outside Germany accounting for more than half of the exhibitors currently registered.
Eco-friendly multi-purpose products
Paint and coatings manufacturers work with raw material suppliers to develop environmentally friendly formulations and functional coating solutions e.g. for keeping surfaces frost-free. At the European Coatings Show, trade visitors and exhibitors will discuss this and other current developments in the coatings industry. The talking points are likely to include the last registration deadline of the European Chemical Regulation REACH by 2018, the use of nano technology and innovations for UV-LED curing. Apart from the information provided at the stands, trade visitors also benefit from product presentations in the exhibition halls that provide an overview of the coating technologies of the future.
Start-up pavilion
At the European Coatings Show, a government-funded pavilion enables start-ups from Germany to present their solutions under the banner "Innovations made in Germany". Thanks to funding from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), eligible firms can benefit from reduced rates to take part in the trade fair.
European Coatings Show Conference
Semi-concurrently with the show, international experts will discuss the latest trends and challenges at the European Coatings Show Conference on 3 and 4 April 2017. No less than 24 sessions led by high-calibre presenters will explore issues like environmentally compatible formulations, UV curing, and functional paints and coatings that help prevent corrosion or microbial growth. The keynote speech in the plenary session will be held by Renaud Nicolay from the renowned City of Paris engineering school ESPCI (École Supérieure de Physiques et de Chimie Industrielles). He will discuss how covalent bonds can be used to realise new coating properties. Ten additional pre-congress tutorials on 2 April are offered as an option to provide a practical introduction to the conference.
