In recent years, one of the areas of renewable energy, which is intensively developing in Ukraine, is solar energy. The start was laid in 2009 from the moment of state adoption of a package of legislative acts providing guarantees, conditions and preferences to manufacturers of equipment and technologies, installers, legal entities and individuals of all forms of ownership that use solar energy for their own needs and for business.
The solar energy market in Ukraine is developing and demonstrating the rapid growth in all segments (materials, equipment, technologies, installations, development, etc.) It has sufficient potential for future growth – from less than 1 GW in 2017 to more than 5 GW until 2020.
The current state program “Green Tariff” in Ukraine aims to stimulate economic entities of all forms of ownership to use renewable energy sources. The program is developed in close cooperation with international institutions and is based on the guarantee of unchanged legislative field until 2030 in Ukraine.Nowadays, the rate of the “green tariff" in Ukraine is one of the highest in the world, payments are connected to the euro rate. The system of mutual relations of the state and objects of generation of electric energy of all forms of ownership in selling, accounting and utilization of electricity received from solar energy is fully formed and operates well.
All these measures ensure the rapid development of solar generation. Ukraine's Energy Strategy predicts an increase in the share of electricity received from solar energy up to 12 percent in the total energy balance of the country by 2035.
Solar Ukraine will take place from 17 – 20 April 2018.
